Pools

The construction of a pool, though
involved, is relatively straightforward:
  • The hole is dug and compacted and
    signed off by soils engineers
  • Steel is tied
  • Drain lines and electrical conduit
    go in
  • the shell is shotcreted
  • coping goes around the edge
  • water-edge tiles are installed and
    finally,
  • several days before it is ready to be
filled, a final plastering - often
    PebbleTec or PebbleSheen, is

clearances in front of the various components.  It is prudent to be conservative when estimating the
requisite size during the planning process.  The pool pictured above required four pumps, each on
average 2 hp; one for the infinity edge, one for the pool itself, one for the (independant) spa and the last
for the bubbles for the spa.  Two large 200,000 BTU heaters were required, each with 10" ducting through
the roof for the pool and spa respectively.   Two cartridge filters where installed, for the pool and spa
respectively.
